The Collaboration
to Adopt USKids is the first federally funded adoption
project to use the Internet to help find families for children
waiting for adoption. In its first year of operation, 1,500 of
the 6,500 listed children have
been
successfully
adopted.
The Collaboration web site is
used by many thousands of prospective parents and social workers
every
day. Grail Technology Group provided a number of services to
the Collaboration for the site launch and provides ongoing services
as they continue to develop the site:
- Assessment of original hosting system
- Worked with consulting team to design new system to handle
increased system load
- Worked with Service provider to deploy new systems in less
than a month
- Worked with Oracle to acquire licenses for the site
- Provided
transition support to new hardware. This was done almost seamlessly
with minutes of downtime
- Set up VPN infrastructure for the Collaboration's geographically
distributed team
Grail continues to provide ongoing technical
consulting advice and advocacy for the
organization.
